GENERAL RULE - IT IS OF COURSE FORBIDDEN TO ENTER PRIVATE LAND AND JOINS. THE PUBLIC ALSO HAS THE RIGHT TO MOVE ON THE WATER OR ALONG THE BEACHES!

SHOW CONSIDERATION WHEN FISHING - THERE MAY BE MORE THAN ONE OTHER FISHING! DO NOT ANCHOR OR FISH CLOSER TO PRIVATE DOCKS/PLOTS THAN YOU WOULD THINK IT WAS OK!!

Norrtäljeån "Yellow Zone" rules.

Fly fishing only.

Barbless hooks are allowed on the fly fishing route!
The card is valid for 24 hours from the specified time.
Wading is done only from one side and no further out (max 2-3m) from the shore/edge than a "Roll Cast" can be carried out.

NOTE!!

Wading from the Old Power Plant Bridge down to the bridge at the cinema and from the Society Bridge to the bridge at Åtellet – takes place on the south side. Wading from the bridge at the cinema to the Society Bridge – takes place on the north side.
Show consideration! Don't wade more than necessary and "Rotate", i.e. if others are fishing, it is customary to move downstream and not step in front of those fishing in the various pools/stretches!

For Sea Trout applies
Catch restrictions/times - 1/1-28/2 Catch&Release on Trout (not Rainbow max 3), - 1/3-14/9 1 Trout or a total of 3
salmonid fish/day (e.g. 1 Trout and 2 Rainbows)!
Allowed size Trout (window outlet 50-65cm)!

A total fishing ban applies between 15/9-31/12! The fishing license on the fly fishing route - "Yellow zone" - also includes fishing in the upper and lower parts of the Norrtälje River - "Green zone"!
Catch report (Name, date, species, weight, length and adipose fin Y/N) is mandatory and is also made to

The stretches are included in the fishing license for Lommaren, Frötuna-Kyrksjö, Limmaren and Malstasjön.

-FROM JANUARY 2026, FISHING WITH LIVESCOPE IS NO LONGER ALLOWED ACCORDING TO THE DECISION OF THE FISHERIES ASSOCIATION.

-AS OF THE BEGINNING OF 2026, IT IS UNFORTUNATELY NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO FISH THE WESTERN PART OF ERKEN (KRISTINEHOLM). THIS MEANS THAT THAT PART IS NO LONGER INCLUDED IN THE FISHING MAP FOR ERKEN. SEE UPDATED MAP.

NOTE! STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO ANCHOR WITH A LINE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MALMAGRUNDET WITHIN A RADIUS OF APPROX. 100 M!! MAXIMUM 30 KNOTS, IN SVANBERGAVIKEN 5 KNOTS.

Hand gear fishing allowed all year round from land/boat (max 2 rods/person) Angling/Ice fishing max 10 gear/person.
No form of trolling with a motorboat is permitted, however, trolling with a maximum of 2 rods/boat is permitted.
A maximum of one pikeperch/day/person and 2 pikeperch/day/person may be kept. Min. size Pikeperch 45 cm, Pike 50 cm. Max. size Pikeperch 65 cm, Pike 75 cm, Perch 38 cm.

Rules for other lakes
Hand gear fishing only.
Minimum size Pike perch 45 cm.

NOTE!!

Avoid fishing for spawning fish as much as possible, generally 1/5-15/6 (spawning fish are a much worse food fish). Do not save more fish than necessary! Our predatory fish, and especially the larger ones, are very important for maintaining the balance of fish communities in our waters. Handle the fish carefully if it is to be released back (no head-lift weighing, protect the eyes from sunlight, think about gill and eye freezing in winter)!

Remember that the pike (male fish) guards the roe and fry!

Free fishing for children and young people does not apply to the fly fishing stretches in the Norrtäljeån and they are of course
obliged to pay attention to other applicable rules that an angler is obliged to follow (local rules)!
