Sandhemssjön - about 84 ha and with about 8 km long shores is located on the southwest edge of Hökensås. It is reminiscent of the lakes of Bergslagen with coniferous forest-covered, fairly steep shores and a narrow reed belt. The water is dark and has good access to pike and perch. Fishing is best done from a boat but can also be done from the shore.
The lake and its surroundings are worth a visit. You can swim in several places and the old, thick pine forest on the peculiar ridges is reminiscent of John Bauer's troll forest. Despite its easy accessibility, the shores are almost completely free of buildings.
Signal crayfish are found in the lake but these are not included in the fishing license.
