Fine pike fishing waters with the opportunity to fish for really big pike! The watercourses are part of the Viskan water protection area and have a rich birdlife.

The fishing water is not affected by acidification and fishing is free for children under 15 years of age with a fishing rod.

Difficult to fish without a boat, boat ramp is available in Västra Marsjön .

There is an accessible jetty in Kleven, about 150 meters after passing the krill hut at Väla kursgård. Continue past 2 cabins on the left, then, about 50 meters, the jetty is on the right in Stora Kleven.

Varnum Marsjöarnas FVO

Varnum Marsjöarna's fishing conservation area was established in 1995. The area belongs to the Viskan water system and is located in Ulricehamn and Borås municipalities.

Our goal is to maintain and improve the opportunities to engage in good recreational fishing and to be able to move around by smaller boat/canoe for everyone in our area, including by having an accessible pier and by cutting reeds and opening up the waterways between the lakes so that it is possible to move around by boat/canoe between all lakes.

The association now owns a reed machine and we have begun to recreate channels between lakes and will keep the reeds away to the extent that we have time and are able to handle. This has contributed to increased costs and that we and several other recreational fishermen are experiencing heavy pressure on fishing in the water system, therefore we have raised prices to be able to keep the reeds down and to counteract too much pressure on pike fishing.

We have had a total fishing ban for a 3-year period between March 1st and the end of May, 2022-2024. We have done a number of test fishing in the fall of 2024 with the help of an experienced angler, who assesses that in the waters he has tested the pike are in very good condition. We in the Board think it is very fun.

We have chosen to reduce the fishing ban for the time being by the following dates, April 1 - May 31!
