Fishing in Jönköping municipality!

In the lakes in Jönköping municipality you will find most of our Swedish fish species. In Lake Vättern alone, Sweden's second largest lake, there are as many as 31 different species. In addition to Lake Vättern, where you have good chances of catching salmon, trout and char, there are a number of lakes with good stocks of pike, pikeperch and perch, among others.

Try for example Landsjön at Kaxholmen for large pike or head to Stora Nätaren or Ylen, outside Lekeryd, for fine pikeperch. Or why not the Bunn lakes, east of Gränna, where you will find both! In the lakes, both trolling, spin fishing and vertical fishing work excellently. Here pike and pikeperch swim over 10kg!

Choose between city fishing in the middle of Jönköping, or look out into the fine forests of Småland for a wonderful nature experience. Fishing in Jönköping and Huskvarna, in Munksjön, Rocksjön and Huskvarnaån is, just like fishing in Lake Vättern, completely free. It is water that can offer great fishing for both our Swedish predators, but also a nice fishing for cormorants, bream and tench for the angler. Keep in mind that even if the fishing is free, you must print a fishing license for Munksjön and Rocksjön on Jönköping's website. It is a good way to spread information about which fishing rules apply and to follow up how many people fish in the lakes.

For fly fishermen, it is recommended to fish for rainbow trout in Ulvstorpasjön - near Axamo airport, about a mile west of Jönköping - or rainbow fishing in Bottnaryd where there are three lakes to choose from. All in a scenic environment.
