Uppsala County offers great opportunities for fishing all year round. The county's lakes offer a very varied fishing experience for everything from large pike, zander and perch to trout and salmon. One of the country's finest salmon and sea trout waters can be found in Älvkarleby, on the lower Dalälven. A bit up the river you will also find fine stream waters with the chance to catch both grayling and trout, as well as large bays that offer good fishing for large pike and zander in wonderful environments.
In Uppsala County you also have the chance to fish for lesser-known species such as asp, chub, roach and bream. The fishing for these species is very good and several Swedish records have been caught in the county.
