Welcome to fishing in Eksjö municipality!
In Eksjö municipality, fishing is a given leisure activity! With around forty lakes to fish in, there is something for everyone and the chances of a bite are good! Annually, pike over ten kilos are caught in several of our lakes and there is also good fishing for, among other things, pikeperch and rainbow trout.
Try your luck in the municipality's largest lake, Solgen! A lake that releases good-sized pikeperch and perch all year round. Try jig fishing for both pikeperch and perch, or why not trolling at dusk! Fishing in Solgen is divided into five different fishing licenses so it is important to keep an eye on the limits - contact the fishing area association for more information.
For those who want to fish for pike, there are many options in Eksjö municipality. Some examples are the Vixen lakes and Mycklaflon. Lakes where large pike lurk in the depths, so don't fish too shallow! Another tip is Ingarpasjön. A slightly shallower lake where it may be easier to find pike. You can also hook some really nice perch here!
There are also many options for fly fishermen. There are no fewer than five put and take lakes in the municipality. Try Aborragölen near Eksjö, for example, or go further out into the forest to Gäddegöl.
When fishing and staying in nature, the right of public access applies, which means freedom but also consideration and responsibility. Eels are found in some of the municipality's lakes. Eel fishing is permitted more than three definitive migration barriers from the sea, but the minimum size is 70 centimeters in all waters.
