Good land fishing opportunities are available in several places around the lake.
Public transport:
Roslagsbanan from the Institute of Technology, towards Lindholmen. Buses run from Tibble station.
Fishing tips:
In addition to fishing for the most common lake species, Mörtsjön offers very good sport fishing for large tench and carp. Carp have been planted in the lake in several rounds and the earliest releases date back to the early 1990s. Mörtsjön is currently one of the lakes in the Stockholm region where the most large carp are landed and fish over 15 kg are caught annually. The record for carp is just over 20 kg. Several tench have been caught weighing over 3 kg.
Other:
Many carp anglers spend several days around the lake. Remember to take your trash home and be considerate of those who live in the area and passersby.
