Availability
Boat rentals are available at Sundby farm. Around Sundby there are also several cliffs to fish from. There are also shore fishing opportunities on the north shore, opposite Sundby farm and to the east.
Public transport
Commuter train towards Östertälje, change to bus at Huddinge station. Get off at Balingsnäs for the northern parts of the lake or at Sundby gård to reach the middle parts of the lake.
Fishing tips
Orlången is perhaps the finest water on the Sportfiskekort with good stocks of perch, pike and zander. The lake is very beautiful with beautiful surroundings with high natural values. Orlången is very rich in fish but can be difficult to fish, if the fish are not on the bite it can be very slow. On days when the fish are on the bite you can however experience fantastic fishing with catches of fine zander and pikes.
Good methods in Orlången are ice fishing, ice baiting, trolling and jigging/vertical fishing. The water in Orlången is murky so baits in bright colors, such as neon yellow or firetiger, usually work well.
NOTE! As the fishing pressure in the lake is quite high, it is important that everyone follows the fishing rules for pike and zander. See the fishing rules for more information.
Other
The lake partly borders the Orlången nature reserve. The lake's surroundings have a rich wildlife, here there are good chances of seeing, for example, snipe, osprey and blue heron .
