Fishing for pike, perch and pike in Nömmen is well known. Nömmen is a relatively large lake with countless islands and skerries that lies on the border between Nässjö and Vetlanda municipalities. Pike anglers are also recommended to visit Ryssbysjön, a shallow and nutritious lake with a strong pike population. Storesjön at Bodafors is a popular lake for pike fishing where larger specimens are caught at regular intervals. When fishing and staying in nature, the Right of Public Access applies, which means freedom but also consideration and responsibility. Eels are found in some of the municipality's lakes. Eel fishing is permitted more than three definitive migration barriers from the sea, but the minimum size is 70 centimeters in all waters.
